Here's an exciting opportunity for businesses in vocational training and cosmetology education. The Federal Bureau of Prisons (BOP) is seeking a contractor to provide an Advanced Occupational Training Program in Cosmetology at the Federal Medical Center (FMC) in Carswell, Texas. This training will help incarcerated students gain valuable skills that will assist in their re-entry into the workforce.

  • Course Schedule:
The program will run with up to 30 hours per week, with courses scheduled Monday to Friday. The training will be a combination of classroom instruction (20%) and live work (80%), including practical work done by students under supervision.
  • Program Requirements:
    The contractor will provide:
    • Course Development: A structured course outline that covers essential topics like chemistry, hair cutting, coloring, manicures, and salon business.
    • Instructor Qualifications: The instructor must hold a Texas Cosmetology Instructor Certification and have experience in the field, with knowledge of a 1,000-hour Cosmetology program.
